Legacy: A Gift of Writing

Many people in music; the movies; television; architecture; politics; athletes, educators; business people, leave a part of themselves behind...so, they can be remembered when they hang up their sneakers. Wouldn't it be great to be remembered for something other than a pile of debt? I've been in the humor business for over 40 years, and I never get tired of putting a smile on someone's face! After I built my website, I have gotten hundreds of emails from all over the world, and the following is an email I received from a fellow named Wayne, who I do not know. This email is one of the reasons why I've been in the humor business for so long. " Greetings Jerry: I wish to thank you for brightening my day a bit. Your website was just what I needed in this time in my life. You see...my mother passed away on July 2, 2003, and I'm trying hard to get back into the swing of things. Being the 4th of July week-end, we all had gathered at her place for a big bang and celebration. Thanks for the laughs I had today...Wayne" I think the reader can see why I have been in the humor business most of my life, etc. Legacy...the gift of humor/writing/graphics...can be left on the Internet for all to enjoy! As a woodcarver, I'm out of the art and craft world, and not out of the writing world, so I have no background in writing whatsoever. In college, I did not major in English, communications or journalism. (I majored in girls) To show my igornance, I knew nothing about article directories until July, 2006 when I got started on Ezine Articles.com, so I'm a newbie when it comes to the world of writing, etc. There are many boomers who are turning the corner on 60 years of age, and I am one of them. Never in my lifetime, could I have imagined, that I would have the opportunity to express my ideas; show my writing pieces to the world on something called the "Internet!" Amazing! And, never in my lifetime, could I have ever imagined, that I would see some of my articles published on other websites on the Internet! What a great feeling! Legacy...the gift of writing...can be left on the Internet for all to enjoy! I can leave of my writings all over the world on the Internet...until the end of time! I can leave my humor pieces, too! (What humor, Jer?) I can see it all happening to me now! I become one of the greatest writers the world has ever known! Parades are held for me all over the country! The networks cover this incredible story of rags to riches! Talk shows want me on their show...movie producers are waiting in line...heads of state all over the world want me in their country...the President of the United States calls! (I'll let him wait) Billionaires are lined up to meet me...I become famous over-night...book deals...movie deals...book signings...shout it from the roof-tops...my 15 minutes of fame...I got it...A STAR IS BORN... Excuse me...excuse me...do I hear laughter here? I didn't write this piece to be amusing...so, why are we laughing...excuse me...h-e-l-l-o-o-o-o-o...
